It's All Grace

Amazing things can happen when you allow the Lord to work in your life.

Working on Virtue

In the world today it is difficult to find one with virtue, character, work ethic and integrity. We purposed for the Lord that we would raise our children for HIM.  However, through the years, we have failed more than we have succeeded.

But through God’s daily grace upon our lives, we get back up and keep going.  My purpose for this post is that it might encourage and spur you on to look at life and raising your children with a new perspective.  In all reality, we are raising adults, not children.  Therefore we must teach them to be amazing adults for the Lord instead of allowing them to “do whatever their flesh desires to do”.  Where do we start?  God’s Holy Word.

The Lord impressed upon my heart years ago to teach my daughter to work with her hands.  She has had an egg business, generating customers, working on social skills, counting back change, etc.  She started her own earring business practicing the same skills and now has began making some of the cutest dresses and bows, hoping to reach many who are interested.

Our ultimate goal is that our children will become what the Lord desires for them and they will honor God in all that they do.  (I Corinthians 10:31)

Her dress line can be found on http://www.Etsy.com and search for “Cowgirl Sass” to see some of her dresses.  I have pictured a few so that you can see some of her work.  Pray for us as we continue to raise up adults that will make a difference in today’s world.

Proverbs 31: 8 speaks about being comfortable when old because she was not useless or idle when young.

I Timothy 4:12 speaks about letting no one despise their youth, but be an example to others in all that you do.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies”.  Proverbs 31:10

“She seeketh wool, flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.”  Proverbs 31:13

“She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.” Proverbs 31:18-19

The Shade of Gray

Something to ponder:

When we speak of God’s Word, it is very BLACK and WHITE.

I’ve heard those speak of gray areas in the Word.  I believe they are referring to areas where God speaks more to “principle” verses being specific.

I’ve learned through the years of walking with Christ and studying His Word, that the more time we spend getting to know Him, the more we understand His desires for us as Christians.

I have also learned on this journey that when it comes to God’s Word, He does not contradict Himself, nor are there any “gray” areas – because gray is nothing more than a shade of black.

White is white . . . or it is not.

Train Wreck

The world is telling you to “follow your heart – if it feels good do it”.  However, the WORD tells you to guard your heart.  We are to LEAD our heart, not FOLLOW it!

If your goal in life is purity then don’t allow your heart to jump on a train that’s headed for a train wreck!  Where your heart leads, the rest of your body WILL follow in due time.  Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above ALL things, and desperately wicked:  who can know it?”

Listen to the one’s who love you.  Listen to the godly authorities that have been placed into your lives.  Those that are encouraging you to do wrong, are only thinking of themselves.  No one wants to fail alone.  Any boy or girl whose ever said these words, “If you loved me, you would . . . . . . ” are using YOU to meet THEIR needs.  This is selfish and not love.

The Bible clearly states in 1 Corinthians 13 what love IS:  kind, long suffering, it does not envy, it is not puffed up, does not behave unseemly, does not seek its own, it is not easily provoked, and thinketh no evil.  Hmmm . . . this is a much different picture of love than what the world calls love.

A TRUE friend will tell you what you don’t want to hear because they LOVE you.   Proverbs 27:5-6 says, “Open rebuke is better than secret love.  Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”

Before you leave the train station (with your heart) and get on the train, you need a plan.  Know what your ticket will cost you, where you are going & where you will get off, the history and track record behind the train, and what is the goal of your trip.  Know your boundaries on the train:  where you will ride, who will you be seated next to, how will you allow yourself to be swayed and influenced, and where you draw the line.

Is there a train wreck ahead for you?  Will you seek God’s Word on leading your heart?

Is Your Name Peter?

At the Last Supper when Peter wanted NO PART of his feet washed, Jesus told Peter that without his feet being washed, he could have NO PART with Christ.  When Peter realized the “cost of refusing” his feet to be cleansed, he THEN WANTED his whole body washed!  John 13:9

I immediately thought of how we try to complicate the Word and instructions the Lord has given us by wanting or doing MORE.  We must decide that what God says in HIS Word, is either final or it’s not! Poor Peter . . . we are more like him, then we’d like to admit!

What have you refused, that Jesus Christ has offered you?
