It's All Grace

Amazing things can happen when you allow the Lord to work in your life.

Is Your Heart in Sync?

It’s not enough to obey, but to have the heart of obedience.

God doesn’t need robotic Christians who are only willing to conform and not be transformed.  However, If a person’s heart is in sync with God’s — in all of its loves, passions, dreams and desires — actions, then, take care of themselves!

No one needs to tell you how to live, if your heart is beating with God’s!

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments.”  John 14:15

Your Limitations

When you decide you can’t do something specific because you have “limitations”, then you are not living your life to its fullest potential.

We say we can’t sing because we don’t like our voice.

We say we can’t act, yet we are great manipulators.

We say we can’t teach, yet we seem to know it all.

We say we are not athletic yet we don’t have any problems putting our sibling into a “Full Nelson” headlock.

We say we can’t love our spouse, yet we CAN love our neighbor.

When we put our limitations in God’s Hands, moving forward and trusting in Him and how HE has created us, then when anything great comes from THAT, we KNOW that God used our limitations to shine brightly in our lives.

Will you stop limiting God, by limiting yourself?  Decide to live the abundant life.

Commanded and Enabled

Thought for the day: Do you buck what you are commanded to do and then stand your ground as if you have a legitimate reason?

When it comes to the greatest commandment to LOVE ~ Purpose to realize that God would not have commanded you to love, if HE was not intending to enable you to love!

Obedience brings blessing and disobedience brings curse – Deuteronomy 28

Obey the command and then watch the Lord bless you!

Are You Having An Affair?

The kind that is unbreakable, indescribable, one that brings you great joy in your daily life that you have to talk about it all day long, one that makes you complete, one that you would DIE to maintain, one that captivates ALL YOU ARE, and one that would cause you to daydream instead of doing your daily tasks?
If you are having a love affair with God’s Word, what kind of evidence would there be for you to be convicted?  You would have to be seen IN THE WORD on more than random occasions, you would have to be found talking about it excessively, you would demonstrate a joy that radiates within, you would respond to trials and difficulties with rejoicing and giving thanks.  You would be eager to love the unlovable, tend to the needy, give of yourself always and living daily as a servant!  WOW.
As a child of God, we should be IN LOVE with THE WORD OF GOD.  Why do we neglect “that” which is so easily attained?  How are we to KNOW what we are called to, if we are not IN The Word?  The Word enables me to avoid sin by the power and the grace of God.  It allows me to have guidance into what HE has for me.  It is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.  We wonder “why” we struggle with “where we are called”.  Because of the Word of God, I can know HOW to stand against the enemy, where to walk, how to live, how to trust in THE GOD I SERVE AND LOVE.
Lord, may I be found “GUILTY” when charged of “having a love affair” with Your Word, and there would be enough evidence to convict me!

When Forgiveness Isn’t Working

When you’re trying to forgive someone, don’t go around telling people how awful they were to you.  It’s hard enough not to hate someone without giving yourself a cheerleading squad.

The way to preserve peace is to make the best of everything; not to notice what has been said or done against ourselves!
“He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. Prov. 17:9”

Are You Falling or Flying?

How many times do we miss opportunities to see the Hand of God working in our lives?  He provides opportunities (both good and bad) that we may see His character and how HE has our best interest at heart.

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust HIM fully and let go.  Only one of two things will happen.  Either He will catch you when you fall, or HE will teach you how to fly.

What are you waiting for?

History of Aprons

I love this story and reminds me of my childhood days — precious memories.

The History of ‘APRONS’ I don’t think many kids today know what an apron is.  The principal use of Grandma’s apron was to protect the dress underneath because she only had a few.  It was also because it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and aprons used less material.  But along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven.  It was wonderful for drying children’s tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears.  From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.  When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids.. And when the weather was cold Grandma wrapped it around her arms.  Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove.  Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron. From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables.  After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls.  In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees.   When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.  When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men folk knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner.  It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that ‘old-time apron’ that served so many purposes. REMEMBER: Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool.  Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw.  They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron.  I don’t think I ever caught anything from an apron – but love…this brings back so many memories from being a kid and holding onto grandmas apron!

God is God

God can do what HE says HE can do . . . precisely because HE IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS . . . God cannot lie, nor be in the presence of sin.

God closes doors that NO ONE can open . . . and HE opens doors that NO ONE can close.  Why?  Because God is God, and I am not.  When we KNOW and UNDERSTAND the attributes of God, we find that not only can we trust HIM, but we can rest in knowing that HE is working everything together for our good and for HIS glory!

Many times God gets the greatest glory from our greatest sufferings, because it is THEN in those dark hours that we wave the white flag of surrender realizing that we cannot do it!  Surrendering is a sign of humility that ushers in HIS GRACE.

It is HIS grace that is sufficient to take us through every trial.  To get grace we must ask, acknowledging that we need help!  Humility and surrender brings you in close to God allowing you to sense HIS presence, know HIM intimately, hear HIS voice and walk WITH HIM.  The further away we get from God, the harder it is to hear HIS voice and KNOW HIS ways.

Do you KNOW God and believe that God is who HE SAYS HE IS?  If so, does your life reflect it?

The Finest Gold Is Tried In The Hottest Fire!

My mother would encourage me as a young girl by saying things like, “when you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on!”  However, understanding the spiritual side of things as an adult helped me to understand the depth of comments like that and to treasure the little “nuggets of truth” my mother gave me.

When we think of how hard our life is, may we reflect on what God wants to DO instead of questioning  “what HE is DOING”.  Know that God must really love you a lot to give you so much hard stuff to go through and that HE must be preparing you for something really great!  Something down the road that you don’t know is even coming.  Therefore, you would NEVER be prepared for it!  What a wreck!

The finer gold is tried in the hottest fire.  It takes 1400 + degrees to really refine gold and to make it pure.  GOLD is not made on the mountaintop where the breezes blow and roses smell so sweetly, yet IT IS IN the hottest fires that will change and shape your very being for the purpose HE created you to be.

I heard this saying just last night, “Why don’t you intend on being who God intended you to be”?  If you do, then you will accept the trials and the sufferings as nothing short of the Hand of God!

May your life be marked up by God’s fingerprints and may you be able TO SEE each one!  Look closely or you will miss them!  Seek HIM and you shall find HIM!

Is Your Mouth Full?

Is your mouth FULL?  Don’t look now Lord! I don’t want you to see me standing here with my big foot crammed in my mouth!

Don’t worry, child. If I didn’t love you just as much with your foot in your mouth, I’d hardly ever get a chance to love you!

Proverbs 13:3 “He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life; but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction”.
