It's All Grace

Amazing things can happen when you allow the Lord to work in your life.

What’s tucked in your backpack?

On this journey through life, we get banged up, broken bones and hearts, accumulate scratches, marring & scars, bodies altered, cut, and lose limbs, become deeply wounded, experience death and disease, etc.  All, which come in the categories of emotional, spiritual and physical.

Some of that may come from our own doings, and some from the choices others.  ALL, which we have NO CONTROL over.  Nonetheless, God has allowed these circumstances for a greater purpose than what we realize in the moment as well as enduring our suffering.

1) to bring him glory in our weaknesses, hurts and failures

2) to establish a platform of victories, that we might reach out and help others find victory through defeat

Satan hopes our horrible experiences will cause us to live in the past.  No way!!!  This pilgrim is moving forward, but I DO keep my experiences tucked in my backpack.  It serves me along the way to be of help to another soldier in battle.

LOOK today for those in need of encouragement, as the Lord has given each one of us a platform to be HIS hands and feet!

Hebrews 3:13  “But exhort one another daily, while it is called today . . .”

Playground vs. Battlefield

We live life as if we’ve been dropped off on a playground, when in reality, we’ve been “strategically placed” on a battlefield!  Are you prepared for battle?  Do you have each piece of the armour of God, in tact?  No pinholes for the enemy to get in?

It is impossible to please God if you do not live a life of faith.  Hebrews 11:6

Faith comes by hearing.  It DOES NOT come naturally.  Romans 10:17

Faith is a battle . . . One that is unseen.  Hebrews 11:1

Satan is roaming & SEEKING someone to devour.  I Peter 5:8

Be faithful and fight the good fight of faith.  I Timothy 6:12

The Refiner

Are you feeling the heat?  Getting hotter?  Ready for it to cool off?

God, our Refiner will take what is IMPURE and make it PURE.

He will take what is DULL and make it BEAUTIFUL.

He’ll take what is of potential value and REVEAL its actual value.

He will transform us into treasure.

He’ll refine us in the crucible so that HE can see Himself in the silver — you and me.

And so the world, as well as the principalities and powers and hosts of Satan, can behold the triumph of the Redeemer!  The fiery flames – the array of disappointing situations in our lives, from minor irritants to major tragedies – will make the difference.  Different flames, different fires will come and go.  In the pressure of their heat we’ll see the impurities in our lives being released and rising to the top.  Then He’ll skim them off, purifying us and refining us.  He’ll make the fire a little hotter, causing new impurities to rise and be released, exposed for what they are.  These, too, He’ll lift away!

Early in our Christian lives He may see only a very dim image of Himself as He looks into our crucible.  But as time goes on, His image becomes more clearer, more lustrous, more beautiful.  All the while, He never leaves or forsakes His treasure!  Our Refiner never leaves the crucible and never steps away from the fire.  He is always there to make sure every flame that reaches us is exactly the right temperature – not too hot – to accomplish its work in our lives!  He knows the precise temperature to maintain so we don’t face more than we can bear.  He tests and proves our faith, not to discredit us, but to show us how far we’ve come.  He perfects our perseverance!

The Lord promises to bring HIS people “through the fire” and to “refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested.  They will call on My Name, and I will answer them; I will say,  ‘They are MY people,’ and they will say, “The Lord is my God'”. Zechariah 13:9
