It's All Grace

Amazing things can happen when you allow the Lord to work in your life.

Who Is He . . . Really?

There is a natural tendency within us to try and make God who we think He is or who we think He ought to be.

If all is well in our world, our view of God is unchallenged.  He is good.  He is loving.  He is fair.  But when things start to go awry, that is when our true view of God is revealed.

Faith Produces Faithfulness

Be faithful now.

Be faithful tomorrow.

Be faithful the next day.

That is developing a pattern in your life of faithfulness to Christ, and then you will know that  when THAT hour of trial comes, He will give you the grace to be faithful then.

It’s All Grace!

IMG_2147

As I reflect back over the ones who’ve had the greatest impact on my life, I remember my precious Grandma Grace.  Her life began to make the greatest difference AFTER she died.  It was THEN that I realized JUST HOW MUCH she loved the Lord.  Not only did I see HIM in the things she did and said each day, but moreso in the things she DID NOT SAY, OR COULD HAVE SAID.

Grandma Grace set up a memorial stone for me and the generations to come.  Joshua 4 explains exactly what she did for me!  I know the Lord “was well pleased with HIS good and faithful servant”.

Soon after she died, I begged God to make me 1/2 the woman my Grandma was.  Through that request HE began to turn up the heat.  Life seemed more difficult than it had ever been. What The Lord showed me through my trials, was that my Grandma didn’t get to where she was by traveling the easy road, yet it was the difficulties that REFINED her AND made her to look more like HIM.

I had asked my dad about my Grandma Grace (his mother-in-law) and how she affected his life.  After he told me that it was my grandma who led him to Christ, he said this thought provoking statement that I have never forgotten.  “When you met Grace . . . you never forgot her.”  I realized that this is exactly how it is with God’s grace.  His grace has grown more precious to me each passing day on this journey.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:  for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”  II Corinthians 12:9

So, when you’re struggling and going through adversities, remember that what you’ve asked God for sometimes may not look like the way YOU THOUGHT it ought to look.  My Grandmothers life AND death were significant in my walk with Christ.  Her legacy lives on!

Does your life honor God in such a way, that you would never be forgotten?  What kind of Memorial Stones are you leaving behind for others to learn from?

Needing Repair?

What do you have that’s in the repair shop?  When a fractured leg is healed it must walk again.  When a damaged zipper is mended it must zip again.  When a sagging gate is fixed it must swing again.  AND when a broken heart is mended it must give again. Psalm 147:3

Living in this world and experiencing what life brings to our doorstep, many times we are marred by experiences, choices we’ve made or even choices others have made that have surely affected our lives.  Physical challenges ring our doorbell, while emotional trauma seems as though it snuck in through the back door, not realizing that it was US who left the back door open!

Although life brings with it “tailor made” trials to grow and stretch us, the Lord wants to use it into making us something beautiful.  Don’t quit or give up as if your legs have been cut off, the wind has been knocked out of you, etc., yet ask the Lord for the strength and grace to get up and keep going.

The Finest Gold Is Tried In The Hottest Fire!

My mother would encourage me as a young girl by saying things like, “when you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on!”  However, understanding the spiritual side of things as an adult helped me to understand the depth of comments like that and to treasure the little “nuggets of truth” my mother gave me.

When we think of how hard our life is, may we reflect on what God wants to DO instead of questioning  “what HE is DOING”.  Know that God must really love you a lot to give you so much hard stuff to go through and that HE must be preparing you for something really great!  Something down the road that you don’t know is even coming.  Therefore, you would NEVER be prepared for it!  What a wreck!

The finer gold is tried in the hottest fire.  It takes 1400 + degrees to really refine gold and to make it pure.  GOLD is not made on the mountaintop where the breezes blow and roses smell so sweetly, yet IT IS IN the hottest fires that will change and shape your very being for the purpose HE created you to be.

I heard this saying just last night, “Why don’t you intend on being who God intended you to be”?  If you do, then you will accept the trials and the sufferings as nothing short of the Hand of God!

May your life be marked up by God’s fingerprints and may you be able TO SEE each one!  Look closely or you will miss them!  Seek HIM and you shall find HIM!

Measured Perfectly

God has appointed to each of us a season of adversity. What God allows into your life, He allows At the right time, IN the right measure, FOR the right duration, IN the right amount! You are NOT going through more than you can handle! That is a lie from the enemy! You are still here! You can handle more than you THINK you can handle ONLY with God’s strength!

Just think: What if it is “THIS GENERATION” who is raising the next generation of martyrs? If so, we have a tough job ahead of us that requires staying in the battle, no baling out, if our children are gonna go through greater fires than even those we think are more than we can bare!
